We had an English afternoon on the 14 th of April, 2010 and it was called ”Music Art Studio”. Participants were students from Grade 9 to 12. Students had to make up original names for their teams. Students also had a home assignment and it was to prepare a three minute performance of a popular English song in the format of “Pop street”. All performances were interesting, but the best was 12th Grade performance – a Eurovision song by the Olsen brothers “Fly on the wings of love”. The teams had to do different activities or tasks connected with music. There was a quiz containing questions about music (songs, history and musicians). There was the traditional spelling task and a very interesting task with a video in which some people were humming a song and we had to guess the title of the song and the band or the musician who performs this song. In the end the winning team was Grade 11. There were prizes as well. The English afternoon was interesting, active and creative. We learned new things about music and we had a chance to speak English a lot more. We also could see how well we know English and what we still have to improve.
PhotosOn the 26th of March there was an Easter church service in Talsi Christian school. There was a musical theater about the death of Jesus Christ. Pastor reminded us why did Jesus die and rise from the grave. The highschool choir worshiped God with singing.
On the 19th March Bible celebration was held for 5th till 9th classes. This time is Easter time, when we remember Christ's sacrifice for each one of us, the time when we forget about our daily rush, our needs, but in our hearts and thoughts are with Jesus Christ in his pain. Also this afternoon was like a stop point where we went away from the daily operations and had some time together through a variety of interesting tasks in connection with Bible stories, or the things taught in the Christian ethics lessons. There were exercises, where the students remembered some of the church holidays or recognized known Christian symbols, guessed or recognized Bible characters, and had to know some verses of the Bible. We played the game "Millionaire", which was a large variety of ingenious questions about the Bible or Christianity in general and students formed small theatre performances, using some objects through which they had to create a picture of a Bible story and to demonstrate

On the 19th of March, 2010 teachers and students of Talsi Christian School welcomed special guests from Riga – representatives of U.S. Embassy in Riga, Latvia– Colonel Lieutenant Military attaché Collin Smith and his assistant. The aim of this visit was to get acquainted with our school and introduce with Collin Smith’s direct responsibilities in Latvia. Students told the visitors about the school, its history, ministries of our school and the close collaboration with American Christian friends in the USA, their great support and help due to what our school has developed and existed so far.
The guests were really surprised about the wonderful students’ speaking skills and about the beautiful facilities. In the end the guests admitted that they could feel the presence of God here.
On the 11th of March there was a Russian afternoon at school. Students from 6th till 12th grade participated there. Every team had to do a homework – a short play where they can showsomething about Russia. Some teams chose the roles of a popular Russian comedy serial, others chose to show some things what they think about Russia. The teams had to do different exercises, they had to find the theme of a song, they had to spell Russian words. All the time there were fans for each team, and they were cheering the teems up. The best of them got a prize. After this event, everybody got tea and pancakes.
On Tuesday, 9th of March, students from 10th, 11th and 12th grades gave a concert to people in the orphans house of Lauciene. Listeners heard songs about their homeland Latvia, and also Christian songs and worship songs. There was also music with motions, and the listeners were very happy to join them in both. 26th February was the badge evening of the 12th grade. This is the moment when the 12th grade students receive their school certification mark - the badge ring, which they will be some kind of reminder of what they have given, and what they have received from their school to their future life and growth. The evening passed in patriotic spirit by looking back to the Latvian people fighting for their freedom, and how free we actually feel in our hearts today, when our country is "relatively free" country. 12th grade students felt the story of the freedom fighters by participating in a special photo session, "War Game" which was shown in the same badge evening.

22nd - 26th of February was the project week of Talsi Christian school. This year the theme for it was “POLITENESS”. Students were listening to lessons about behavior, told by specialists of different areas. Students were learning how to behave is a restaurant, and worked in groups, where they learned more about relationships, how to behave while eating, the basics of the clothing culture, and how to behave in public.In the end of the week every group had to make a presentation about their theme and play a situation, where they can use their new knowledge.

On 17th of February in the dining room there was an event for people with special needs. The people were from Talsi and Talsi district, also from Lauciene. Together we celebrated 10 years since the first event for people with special needs. There was a concert, a meal, thanksgiving, gifts, and of course, a cake with 10 candles.

On the 10th of February in the sports hall of Talsi Christian school threre was a worship service. Preacher Ivars Bernats reminded, that Jesus told us, that we are branches of a wine tree, and if we keep close to the tree, we will bring fruit, but if we don't, we become dry, and dry branches are burned in fire. Talsi Baptist church's worship band were leading the worship. Girls from Lutheran church worship band also led the worship.
PhotosOn 11th of January there was an ending for the 12-week long "Alpha" course, where everyone had the chance to get to know something more about Christianity. This evening everybody could get to know each other much better. Everybody had the chance to hear a touching life story and also worship the Lord. All the "Alpha" course members got certificates.
On 21st of December there was a Christmas event for 1st till 4th grade students of Talsi Christian school. There was also a Santa who visited the students and every class had made a number to show to him, so the children got sweet gifts. On 22nd of December there was a Christmas church service, where already for the 3rd year a play about the Christmas event was shown. For the 5th year there was the "Oscar awards" event, where in different nominations many students and teachers got an "Oscar".
The choir and some teachers of Talsi Christian school went to gladden the children in the orphanage "Kakishi". The choir was singing songs and the kids got presents for answering questions about Christmas. Since there are a lot of chances to get a cold in the winter, the children didn't get some candies, but the natural vitamins - fruits.

On 2nd of December there was a charity concert at school. Students of Talsi Christian school and Talsi Elementary school were playing there. Everybody could get there for a donation - a loaf of bread. These donations were given to the establishment where 200 poor people get food every week.
PhotosOn the 17th of November, there was a church service in Talsi Baptist church, which was for the 91st birthday of Latvia. The service started with the anthem. Was read quotes from student reflection works, about the theme „Finding for the land of happiness.” The high school choir were singing songs and pastor was talking about the reason why we are living in Latvia.
In the end of September there was a Mikelis day market in the school. Students from 1st till 4th grade had made different sweets, which could be lought by the students of other grades. After the market the students had the chance to join some activities and get prices.
PhotosFrom 26th to 28th of October there was Christmas card workshop. We all together made many christmas cards, that now are sent to America and our friends in all world.
In 19th of October, in our school started 12 weeks long course named „Alpha”. The main point is to told people about christianity. In this course participate and work teachers, the staff, students and their parents.
The admiison took place from 19th to 23th of October. All the students of 10th grade had to dreses like slavers. Every day they had to resist a challange, they had sports, they had to made theater about 10 God Commandments. At the end of the week they arrived „The Promised Land” – high school
On the 30th of September there was a celebration for teachers. Students made an artistic greeting, where the teachers could see themselves. After that the teachers got some rest, but older students were teachers for the younger students.
On the 23rd and 24th of September there was a sports day. The students had a chance to compete in 4 disciplins. The best students in each class got awards.
